BOBST to host REVO Master Class Open House at Bobst Firenze.

From November 29th to December 1st 2016, Bobst Firenze, Florence, Italy, will play host to a major event for forward-looking converters who want to partake in the most-up-to-date technologies available in the age of industry 4.0. The technologies have been developed by BOBST and its industry partners in the REVO Team and succeed in giving life and substance to a shared vision of tomorrows digital world of printing.
“We believe that the future of the printing industry and printing technologies, be they analogue or digital, is in a workflow which can be digitally measured and validated by global digital quality standards,” said Federico DAnnunzio, Strategic Products Marketing Director of BOBST Business Unit Web-fed.
To make it possible to digitize the printed results, and make them sharable on cloud-based digital platforms, requires the concerted development of new technologies on the part of the manufacturers of all the component elements of the printing process workflow. This applies from consumables through to control systems and on to the actual printing equipment.
This is why the BOBST Competence Center at Bobst Firenze is also home to the REVO Academy. Set up in 2014, REVO is a grouping of technology leaders in flexography that has been formed to optimize the flexo process by “digitalizing” the whole manufacturing workflow. The aim is to reach revolutionary new standards in the printing and converting of labels and packaging.
On the occasion of the REVO event at Bobst Firenze, all the REVO partners – Americk Packaging, Apex International, AVT, BOBST, DuPont, Esko, Flint Group, UPM, X-Rite PANTONE – will come together to offer a comprehensive half day program of classes. These will be held in the morning and repeated in the afternoon and will give visitors the opportunity to learn and discuss the applications and advantages of the REVO process. Live machine demonstrations will show all the benefits to be derived from the combined action and integration of the cutting-edge technologies developed by the REVO partners.
BOBST machines in demonstration:
– The mid-web M6 inline UV flexo press equipped with Digital Flexo technology, printing flexible packaging in the morning and carton packaging in the afternoon
– The narrow-web M1 inline flexo press dedicated to label applications, printing self-adhesive labels.
