COLORDRUCK BAIERSBRONN SAYS YES TO DIGITAL CUTTING AND CREASING WITH A HIGHCON BEAM ORDER

Thursday 29. September 2016 - Highcon announced today the sale of a Highcon Beam digital cutting and creasing machine to colordruck Baiersbronn in Germany, a technology leader in Europe's packaging sector.

colordruck Baiersbronn, a 62 year-old family-owned folding carton packaging company, is known for innovation, forward thinking and a focus on best-in-class technology. They have been following Highcon since the company first introduced the Highcon Euclid in 2012. Clearly identifying the industry’s shift toward digital, colordruck Baiersbronn decided to evaluate the Highcon Beam through rigorous testing to ensure that it could meet their customers’ needs in terms of quality, efficiency and reliability. With productivity of up to 5,000 sheets per hour, and quality that matches analog cutting and creasing machines, colordruck Baiersbronn recognized that the Highcon capabilities provide a solution to their production needs.

Jens-Henrik Osmundsen, Highcon VP Global Sales: “The adoption of the Highcon digital technology by an industry leader like colordruck Baiersbronn is a great seal of approval for us. The ability of the Highcon Beam to handle both analog and digitally printed sheets will help them eliminate the bottlenecks currently caused by conventional die-cutting for short runs or customization. We believe that by partnering with Highcon colordruck Baiersbronn will not only gain a competitive advantage in the near future, but also help to shape the future of Highcon’s technological capabilities.”

Frank Büsching, Managing Director, colordruck said: “The Highcon Beam will take its place in our new purpose-built, highly-automated 3,000 square meter digital packaging facility where we are already operating the HP Indigo 30000 and anticipating the arrival of a Landa S10 digital printing press. The addition of the Beam with its high productivity in a completely digital process, will ensure a true end-to-end digital workflow. We will be able to offer our customers new products with rapid Time-to-Market as well as produce customized or personalized packaging from small runs to Mass Customization.”

The Highcon Beam extends the digital finishing revolution to mainstream production. Developed as a robust solution to the challenges facing folding carton converters and print service providers, this machine extends the capabilities of the Highcon digital cutting and creasing technology to a wide range of substrates (carton board and labels from 120-900 ? /5-36 pt. and microflute up to 2mm/78 pt.) at high speed of up to 5,000 B1/42 in. sheets per hour.
