technotrans AG presents its unique combination unit for additive manufacturing – industrial 3D printing – at the AMB trade fair in Stuttgart. It combines the two well-established systems toolsmart and omega.line in a single solution. The modular system replaces several peripheral devices for cooling, filtration and conditioning. You can find the system supplier of cooling and filtration systems from Sassenberg at the AMB trade fair on 13-17 September in hall 6 at stand C64.
The toolsmart series is a well-established solution for the filtration and temperature control of machine tools, and the omega.line series is used in laser cooling and other applications. The new combination unit based on these two product series has been specifically developed for additive manufacturing by technotrans. Like the entire toolsmart series, the system for industrial 3D printing has a modular and particularly compact design. Christian Walczyk, head of industrial system solutions at technotrans, will unveil the new system at this year’s AMB trade fair. “3D printing is changing the way we work in many fields. However, the method must be reliable and safe. This is what we guarantee with our new solution,” he says. The peripheral equipment made by technotrans resorts to a well-established system: the toolsmart series.
Compact and user-friendly systems
The toolsmart.line equipment is not only space-saving. It also enables the control of several different processes via a single control unit. As a result, one single cooling system can supply several different manufacturing areas, for example. “Cost-saving is only one factor. It is also a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution,” explains Christian Walczyk.
toolsmart is a modular system in which the various elements are adapted to the specific demands of the application in question. It can be easily retrofitted to already existing systems. Thanks to the proven multi-zone cooling concept, the system can also be used as a chiller for other machine tool segments. The spindle, hydraulic system, switch cabinet, cooling lubricant and other areas are all controlled – based on a single control element – via several independent refrigeration circuits. Even sophisticated materials are not a problem for the machines. The available models include a basic system up to the flexible toolsmart.xt unit with a tank capacity up to 4,000 litres and a filtration rate of up to 750 l/min.
