Genes’Ink wins SME instrument phase 2 of the H2020 program, and obtains a leader position in chemical innovation in Europe.

Tuesday 05. July 2016 - Genes’ink, start’up in printed electronics and chemical innovation, announces its success in phase 2 of the European program SME instrument with a 2.2M€ grant.

Genes’ink develops, manufactures and commercializes conductive and semi-conductive inks for a wide range of printed electronic applications (OPV, OLED lighting, flexible printed circuits, RFID, sensors, etc.) This start’up notably convinced international industrial groups to use its patented, very competitive, efficient and ecological disruptive technology.
2016 marks a decisive year for Genes’Ink, which as leader of the CLEARSILVER project won a European
funding of 2.2M€ as part of phase 2 of the SME instrument.
The CLEARSILVER project will allow to finance a development program to serve, with new materials, the international market of transparent electrodes equipping all types of screens (smartphones, televisions, tablets, etc.). Currently, this market is mostly supplied by ITO, an expensive, rare material that is produced in extreme conditions. Its mechanical weaknesses are also an obstacle to the development of the electronic sector. In this way, the market is demanding for efficient and innovating solutions to replace ITO. The obtained funding will help the project for 2 years and will allow Genes’Ink to commercialize eventually an innovative solution of flexible transparent electrodes for applications in photovoltaics and for OLED technologies (lighting, backlighting, and screen technology).
«Thanks to the funding won with phase 2 SME instrument for the project CLEARSILVER, we aim at developing the printed electronic sector in France by revitalizing evolving industries: electronics, innovation and printing chemistry. Our objective is to promote France as the European locomotive.» explains Corinne Versini, Genes’Ink CEO.
For the implementation of this project with growth and economical strategic issues, Genes’Ink as leader in its sector chooses to bring with them another French SME, Kelenn Technologie. An approach placed in the Genes’Ink’s will to support high potential companies and projects.
