Xeikon teams up with industry leaders for North American label event

Thursday 21. April 2016 - Path to profitability demonstrated by "Securing a Successful Future" seminars

Xeikon is taking the road toeducate label printers converters about key developments in the North American label market. As part of “Securing a Successful Future” seminars, Xeikon has teamed up with Flint Group Narrow Web, Label Traxx, Mark Andy and ThermoFlexX, to stage four free regional events in Toronto, Philadelphia, Dallas and Southern California starting in April.

David Wilkins, Vice President of Sales at Xeikon, says, “Today, there are new challenges and opportunities facing converters. That is why we created these seminar series – to give converters a better understanding of how digital solutions can enable them to better produce shorter run jobs. Through real world customer experiences, industry data and demonstrations, we’ll prove how using digital presses alongside flexo solutions leads to improved efficiency and profitability. It is also a way to share information in the run up to Labelexpo later this year.”

Customer champions

As part of the showcase, Xeikon is delighted to be joined by a number of industry pioneering customers who will share their Xeikon journey, talk about how digital printing helped future-proof their business and secure growth.

These customers will include Action Packaging, which invested in a Xeikon CX3 aka Cheetah to meet the need for a press that delivered the right speed, quality and reliability. The Xeikon CX3 complements its flexo and digital production to support growth with additional production capacity. It gives the company greater flexibility to shift more short-run jobs from flexo to digital production, increasing cost-efficiency and productivity.

Full service label provider The Label Smith, a specialist in custom labels for food and water, installed a Xeikon 3500 digital color press to support its growing digital business. It chose the press for its capability, flexibility and service support. Tim Smith, founder of The Label Smith said the print quality of the Xeikon 3500 really stood out and that ease of maintenance is tremendous.

Logo Label Printing installed a Xeikon 3030 digital color press as its third digital printing system because it says there is no trade-off between quality and productivity. As well as its ability to print on virtually any material, Logo Label also liked the fact that the four process colors, plus one of a range of standard or custom-made spot colors, provide an extended color gamut. The one pass opaque white also helps to create immaculate images on transparent and metallic label stock.

Lake Graphics chose a Xeikon 3030 digital color press for its broad range of services that include advertising, promotional and label print. It can produce 5-color process on most substrates and graphics of all sizes and shapes. The versatility of the Xeikon press was a key decision factor to choose for the Xeikon press.

As part of the roadshow LPC, an industry analyst firm will report the results of a comprehensive market study on the North American labeling sector, conducted in the beginning of 2016. Topics being covered include the profit curve, market sizing, trends by vertical market and run-size pain points for converters.

In addition, there will be presentations by Mark Andy, Flint Group Narrow Web, Label Traxx president and ThermoFlexX will educate on new innovation in their expertise.
