The Perfect Drying Technology for each Printing Application

Wednesday 30. March 2016 - UV, UV-LED or IR - at this year‘s Drupa the Hönle Group shows their huge bandwidth of high-tech drying solutions for the printing industry. Whether for Inkjet (Hönle), sheet-fed offset (Eltosch Grafix) or web-offset printing (PrintConcept): the drying and curing experts stand for highly efficient cutting-edge solutions, always optimally adjusted to the application in question.

The Perfect Drying Technology for each Printing Application
UV, UV-LED or IR – at this year‘s Drupa the Hönle Group shows their huge bandwidth of high-tech drying solutions for the printing industry. Whether for Inkjet (Hönle), sheet-fed offset (Eltosch Grafix) or web-offset printing (PrintConcept): the drying and curing experts stand for highly efficient cutting-edge solutions, always optimally adjusted to the application in question.
In the centre of our presentation is the world’s most comprehensive range of UV-LED curing systems.

LED Powerline series
The LED Powerline series comprises of highly intensive UV-LED units, which are available in different lengths and in the wavelengths 365/385/395/405 +/-10nm. The different LED Powerline variants differ in the size of the light emitting aperture, in intensity and in the type of cooling.
New is LED Powerline AC / IC, an air-cooled high-performance UV-LED curing unit with integrated control. It wins over by its compact design. There are two variants of LED Powerline AC / IC which differ in performance and size of the light emitting aperture: 78 mm x 10 mm or 82 mm x 20 mm. For larger irradiation widths several LED Powerlines can be connected without any gap.
LED Powerline Focus was developed for sheet-fed offset printing machines. This powerful UV-LED system has been optimized for greater distances to the substrate. A high intensity is achieved by using a particular focusing optic. This leads to extraordinary curing results even at high operating speeds. LED Powerline’s modular design permits to switch off single segments for an easy adaption to smaller sheet sizes.
Also new is LED Powerline Flexo. This UV-LED curing system is ideal for curing highly reactive inks and was specially designed for flexo printing. The compact 16-Watt-UV-LED module with integrated control has a height of only 90 mm and a width of 100 mm. The length depends on the application. The irradiation width of LED Powerline Flexo is 280 mm up to 680 mm.

jetCURE series
Curing units of the jetCURE series have especially been developed for inkjet printing. Due to their double peak-intensity compared to similar units, jetCURE systems guarantee excellent curing, even at high operating speeds, this leads to a considerably improved printing quality. Special dichroic reflectors allow the printing on temperature-sensitive substrates.
JetCURE units are available with lamp spectra which are precisely adjusted to the printing ink and in customized lengths.
New at Hönle is jetCURE LED. This highly intensive curing unit combines the advantages of a perfected curing concept with the well-known benefits of LED technology. It is available in different irradiation widths, lengths and wavelengths and can be customized to any inkjet application. According to its lightweight and compact design jetCURE LED is perfectly apt for installation on the print carriage.
The latest addition to the jetCURE family is jetCURE IR. Its compact and light design allows an easy integration in existing machine concepts, offers great advantages for process-related moving of the modules, and permits a quick lamp exchange. By changing the IR lamps, different wavelengths can be generated very easily. For larger working widths single modules can be installed next to each other. Continuous power control and zone switching for wider working widths provide for perfect adjustment. The drying performance can be once more increased by an additional warm airflow.

UV or UV-LED? Buy one get both.
With the new, air-cooled hybrid system the printer has the choice which curing technology he wants to use for the up-coming print job. The only thing he has to do is to change the cassette, which is whether equipped with an UV discharge lamp or with LEDs. The electronic power supply instantly recognizes what kind of technology is equipped and adjusts the electric control automatically.
