Müller and Kern ICM launch new High-performance Inserter System

Friday 11. March 2016 - Müller and KICM (Kern Investment Consulting Management) unveil their latest product, a multi-format, high-performance inserter system with up to 28,000 inserts per hour. Müller exclusively produces and distributes the system in global markets. They will show the new system at drupa. It will be available this fall.

Müller further expands its portfolio in the 150-meter class. Aside from the new cutting line, the portfolio now also features a high-performance inserting system. Based on the design concept and the high productivity, the system will particularly meet the requirements of output centers and services bureau.

Partnership
To meet time-to-market requirements and to offer the most advanced product, Müller has entered into an exclusive long-term technology partnership with Kern-ICM. Peter & Marc Kern pointed out: “Two companies, very similar by nature came together; what a great chance to become a major player with joint forces in this market segment.”
The system was developed to its perfection the last 5 years with more than one year of on-site-customer tests. Finalization was done with Müller. The series production just started at the main plant of Müller near Munich in Germany.

Müller conquers the 150-Meter-Class
“Müller is rapidly entering the high-volume market for paper handling solutions”, said Max Andelshauser, Sales and Marketing Director at Müller. “The new inserting system is another important product along with the high-performance cutting line in our growing portfolio in the 150-meter class (500-feet class). The innovative concept of the new system perfectly reflects our slogan: flexible, intelligent, efficient. With the new lines we will be able to serve two different concepts: Customized modular solutions for the mid volume market and multi-format-solutions for the high volume market.

Technical Product Features
The benchmark figures make the case for the inserting system. It handles up to 28,000 insertions per hour at formats up to B5 and up to 14,000 insertions at B4 envelopes. The maximal insert thickness of 13 mm and the ability to process many paper and envelope formats make the system uniquely flexible without compromising productivity.

Drupa
At drupa Müller will introduce their new cutting and the inserting system, two completely new systems in the 150-meter class (hall 6, booth A60).
