INTRODUCING PPB Limited – SERVICE ON DISPLAY

Wednesday 09. September 2015 - John Proctor set up Proctor Paper & Board 37 years ago and over this period the company has evolved into a £25m turnover company. In 1994, Proctors set up a new business called Buchanan Paper & Board and in 2010 they acquired A&R Board Sales. From the 7th of September, this combined heritage will now become one company called PPB - Service on Display.

PPB will remain an independently owned distributor and converter of point of purchase materials and substrates to the Screen Print, Digital and Large Format markets. It has now widened its product range to cover Sign Makers, Fabricators and Wide Format Digital Printers.

Richard Proctor, MD of PPB Ltd, explains why they are evolving the company to match today’s business objectives. “We have integrated our 3 businesses under one brand, PPB Limited, to supply display products nationally. This new name strongly re-enforces our reputation for converting materials, bespoke sheeting (including wide format digital print sizes) and re-reeling.”

This significant change of name also celebrates the change of focus that the business is now taking. From its origins as a paper and board merchant, PPB has invested heavily to provide the widest range of Plastic, Paper & Board, Display materials and finishing services for the screen print and digital display markets. Additional investment in machinery and stock now allows PPB to provide a high value service to Sign Makers, Fabricators and Wide Format Digital markets. PPB’s Leeds facility has state of the art sheeting and rewinding equipment including a Schelling Saw for cutting Industrial Plastics and Aluminium Composites. PPB will also be making an increased commitment to further improve warehousing and logistics.

Its new product offering recognises the developing needs of customers. PPB now stocks and converts Industrial Plastics, Graphical Products, Digital Display Materials, Priplak and Aluminium Composites.

Key business values: The new identity will re-enforce the original values such as agility and service, which will remain at the heart of PPB with renewed focus on the ability to create fresh opportunities for customers. “We have a long earned reputation of honest dealing and providing high quality solutions”, added Richard.

Richard explains why this evolution is happening now. “The demise of PaperlinX has changed the display market in its most significant way for 25 years. There were many highly qualified people and fantastic products left looking for new opportunities and investment. This is of course a great opportunity for us at PPB Ltd to build on our experience in this sector and we are relishing the chance to use our skills to better service a sector that we already know and understand. We are re-branding the company to give a clear message to customers, suppliers and our colleagues about what our business stands for today and what it is now capable of delivering.”

PPB has recently appointed several key and industry leading specialists, including Joanne Smeeton and Glenn Crowley Digital Sales, Paul Neale ACM Manager¸ Darren Raistrick, Industrial Plastics Manager and Simon Balderson, Group Product Manager.

What will it mean for customers?

“For our existing customers it will see them benefiting from new products and expertise. We are presently launching an exciting new wide format digital range along with Priplak and an aluminium composite portfolio. For new customers it will give them the reassurance of dealing with a company that has an extensive history, with expertise in their industry and which is here to grow and develop with them to offer new market opportunities”, concluded Richard.
