Caldera offers a portal to the future at FESPA 2015

Tuesday 26. May 2015 - Caldera invites visitors to FESPA 2015 to make contact with its array of futuristic solutions for display production at its stand, T80 in Hall 6. Amongst its cosmos of software-led options are the newly updated, faster-than-light Caldera RIP V10.1, the stellar VariableDisplay digital signage package and Flow+, which connects a constellation of software to create the unified, automated workflow businesses need to travel at warp speed.

The European software manufacturer is, as ever, at the vanguard of adoption and has incorporated the newest upgrade of the Adobe PDF Print Engine in its latest version. V10.1’s inclusion of APPE3.7 will teleport print houses’ production capabilities into a new landscape of efficiency and automation, featuring 64-bit implementation for improved PDF compliance and astronomical performance with transparencies and color rendering. Additionally, Caldera reveals that it has broken the barrier of 1,000 different printer drivers, making it one of the most diverse RIP options on the market today.
Other intrepid additions to the V10.1 control suite include algorithmic enhancement for processing raster graphics and spot colors. Those using advanced computing solutions, such as Caldera’s dedicated C4 hardware platform, can expect RIP speeds for files with these elements to improve by more than four times. Additional support is also in place for the Kala XY cutter range, as well as better handling of print-to-cut output. New markers can be placed between images for flat-bed cutting, interacting with Caldera’s existing Compose, Nest-O-Matik and Step&Repeat tools and allowing print houses to reduce waste from cut jobs significantly.
Intrepid cosmonauts with a thirst for knowledge and discussion about the visual communications universe will be invited to take home a copy of Caldera’s pioneering thought-leadership magazine Gamut. Now on its third edition, this is a user manual for the future of print, with experts from both Caldera and the industry at large revealing their discoveries from the frontiers of display production, industrial and textile print, and digital signage.
Also on hand to discuss bespoke astrometric requirements are Caldera’s dedicated space-time engineers, the Solutions Integration Department. Armed with Nexio, the highly versatile JDF/JMF connector, departmental director Patrick Zimmerman and his team will be able to solve any number of issues faced by those exploring the furthest reaches of the galaxy.
“Caldera’s aim at FESPA 2015 is to show how we help our customers reach for the stars,” explains Joseph Mergui, CEO for Caldera. “From our light-speed update to V10 to the infinite multiverse of options presented by Nexio and Flow+, we are excited to show the future to the FESPA audience and be their guide to the future.”
