Coveted Polar finds a home in the Lake District

Tuesday 20. January 2015 - A Polar N78 guillotine will be installed in the Lake District this month. Stramongate Press is replacing its Wohlenberg with the Polar guillotine which will be used to handle a broad range of commercial material and different stock weights for a client base that ranges from individuals to multinational companies.

Managing director Peter Hartley says: “Polar guillotines are considered the best and it’s time we had one. We like the durability and value for money and on installation this machine will go straight into action, operating flexible days.”
The company handles 20 digital invitations through to 120,000 leaflets (both these in the last week) so its cutting will also be diverse which means it will benefit from the programmability of the N78. The Optiknife system means quick and easy knife changing and complete safety.
Stramongate Press runs a Ricoh press and Heidelberg litho presses and it buys all its plates and consumables from Heidelberg so it has confidence in the Hiedelberg support and back up.
Formed in 1986 it operates out of a snuff factory which was designed and rebuilt to the company’s specific physical workflow needs. It offers a friendly local service to companies in North Lancashire and the Lake District.
