2014 Sees Record Year for Prospekt Versand Service in Sopron (Hungary)

Saturday 29. November 2014 - P.V.S. Invests in the FlexLiner - its Tenth Inserting System from Muller Martini

Since Prospekt Versand Service (P.V.S.) in the Hungarian city of Sopron is having a record year in 2014, Europe’s leading specialist in advertising inserts is now purchasing a new FlexLiner from Muller Martin, following its investments in the Integro high-performance inserting system with two-up production, two AlphaLiners and six Biliners.
Based in Sopron, P.V.S. processes more than one billion softcover books annually with a total weight of around 35,000 tons for households in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Croatia. That corresponds to some four million copies or almost 130 tons per work day, and the volume is on the rise. “Since advertising brochures continue to be popular and the job volumes of our existing clients have risen considerably, 2014 is a record year for us,” says Erich Romano, who founded the company in 1991 together with his business partner Johann Ungerböck. “Without the Integro which was commissioned two years ago, we wouldn’t be able to handle all these jobs,” says the successful Austrian businessman.
However, now the Integro is coming up against its capacity limits, so P.V.S. is investing in the FlexLiner, its tenth inserting system from Muller Martini. According to the company founder and managing director, there were two main technical reasons for investing in the FlexLiner, which has impressed Romano since being unveiled at drupa 2012. “First, I like the rotating principle, which means that all inserts are first gathered and then inserted, which is a big advantage especially if there are a large number of inserts. Second, the FlexLiner is the optimal solution for inserts in inserts, which is a successful business model for our company.”
P.V.S.’s new FlexLiner has a feeder for the main jacket and eight insert feeders. It is expected to be put into operation at the factory in Sopron, which opened in 2007, in February.
