Mark Andy to Feature Business Responsive Technologies at Labelexpo Americas 2014

Friday 29. August 2014 - The industry leader will focus on their Total Solutions approach at this year's event

Mark Andy Inc. announces its presence at Labelexpo Americas 2014, to be held 9-11 September in Chicago, Illinois. Focusing on the company’s commitment to serve as a Total Solutions Partner to printers and converters worldwide, the Mark Andy stand (#319) will showcase a number of Business Responsive Technologies which offer sustainable, quality solutions that deliver extreme productivity.
The New Mark Andy Digital Series
Making its debut to the North American Labelexpo audience is the new Mark Andy Digital Series. A true production-level digital solution, the Digital Series runs high-quality jobs at full production speeds of 250 fpm/76 mpm and delivers the best total cost of operation of any digital inkjet solution available. The unique hybrid platform is designed to be highly configurable and features high-resolution 6-color UV inkjet printing (CMYKOV+W) with top coating and fully integrated in-line modules including flexo printing, converting and decorating options. Live demonstrations of this robust, end-to-end solution will feature on-the-fly job changes and decorating options including cold foil, flexo spot color and varnish, as well as the award-winning Quick Change Die Cut (QCDC) technology. Demonstrations will be held daily at 9:15, 10:15, 11:15, 1:15, 2:15, 3:15.
Leading Flexo Technology – Mark Andy Performance Series
The stand will also feature live demonstrations of the award-winning, Full HD Flexo certified Mark Andy Performance Series flexo press platform. With more than 350 Performance Series presses installed since its introduction in 2009, this innovative design has proven itself to be one of the most productive, flexible solutions available on the market today. On-stand demonstrations will focus on multi-process, high-quality Full HD printing and will feature new lamination and waste windup technologies to drive converter productivity and profitability. The Performance Series P7 will feature the latest in proven curing technology, Mark Andy ProLED. ProLED is a completely integrated UV LED curing system that is energy efficient and environmentally friendly, and since its introduction at Labelexpo 2010, the availability of UV LED inks from various leading suppliers has grown substantially. UV LED curing of specialty inks and coatings, even on thinner filmic materials, can be achieved with no heat management, which is another significant advantage over traditional mercury systems. Demonstrations will be held daily at 9:45, 10:45, 11:45, 1:45, 2:45 and 3:45.
Rotoflex Finishing Systems
Additional Business Responsive Technologies on display include the servo-driven Rotoflex VSI and VLI. This servo technology which extends through the complete Rotoflex line of offline finishing systems complements the exclusive eDrive 2.0 drive system, bringing even higher speeds and increased productivity to the operator friendly product line. Rotoflex has built a stellar reputation for finding the balance between speed and accuracy and this development will only add to that experience. Also a standard across the Rotoflex equipment portfolio is the updated URC 2.0 control system. This high performance control system is focused on productivity, giving operators and production managers the tools to produce more consistent, accurate product which supersedes customer expectations.
Workflow Optimization – The new Mark Andy Print Products
Mark Andy Print Products, the newest division of Mark Andy, will make its Labelexpo Americas debut in September as well. This North American-focused division, introduced in July 2013, meets customers’ needs for printing supplies, consumables and equipment to support pressroom efficiency. With over 10,000 products, Mark Andy Print Products is committed to providing a total solution for virtually all printing needs, offering a full line of flexo and offset supplies including mounting tapes, doctor blades, printing plates, prepress materials, film and proofing products, inks, cleaning supplies, parts and more. Most notably, Mark Andy Print Products was appointed a distributor of DuPont Cyrel flexographic systems for the United States earlier this year. This strategic partnership has allowed DuPont and Mark Andy to work closely in the development of innovations for new flexo press and plate technologies. An initiative that supports a common objective for both companies – advancing flexographic print quality and pressroom workflows – all to provide new technologies that will drive flexo profitability.
Mark Andy Print Products supports all aspects of the workflow – pre-press, on-press and post-press – with technologies like the Mark Andy VPM400, a video plate mounter which features HD digital cameras with high resolution monitors for extremely accurate and efficient plate mounting. A VPM400 will be demonstrated by experts offering guidance on all aspects of plate mounting from tapes to plates, focused on providing the best tools to produce the highest quality print most efficiently. Another workflow enhancement available through Mark Andy Print Products is the Mobile Roll Lift (MRL). This battery-powered lift has been designed to support a Lean and safe work environment. The MRL is customizable with a variety of attachments to support lifting raw material, finished rolls, dies and laminate rolls. MRL is a turnkey solution for converters interested in moving away from hand cranks and manual lifting of rolls and dies.
