SNAP Innovation and vjoon K4 Get kicker-sportmagazin into the Google Play Kiosk

Monday 09. June 2014 - kicker-sportmagazin is now available in the Google Play Kiosk along with more than 1,000 other international newspapers and magazines. SNAP Innovation and the IT department of Olympia-Verlag handled the technical side of the project. vjoon K4 and Adobe Creative Suite have served to publish kicker-sportmagazin since 2011.

One of this most recent project’s main objectives was to implement cross-media workflows, for one, to enable multiple data usage in digital channels and, for the other, to automatically generate XML-based pages. Once these workflows were in place, another of the publisher’s demands was soon met. The firm was among the first German publishers with a magazine available in the new Google Play Kiosk from day one.
vjoon K4 XML Exporter retrieves the printed publication’s data soon after its deadline in XML format, which SNAP Print2RePUB software then converts into the target format and delivers to the Google Play Kiosk. The current issue may be read on any Android smart phone and tablet.
“The long-standing cooperation with SNAP has yet again proven its merits,” said Alexander Maintok, IT Director at Olympic-Verlag. “vjoon K4’s open interfaces and SNAP’s know-how made it possible to implement this ambitious project on such very short notice.” Commenting on the project, vjoon GmbH CEO Andreas Schrader notes, “The Google Play Kiosk is a sales platform that promises greater reach to our customers. We are delighted that our customers are able to deliver to this distribution channel right from the start with vjoon K4.”
