3D Printing as a New Business Strategy – is Your Company Ready?

Wednesday 04. June 2014 - MD&M East to feature case study workshops featuring medical technology applications for 3D printing

From printed food to human organs, 3D printing is revolutionizing design and manufacturing across all sectors, including healthcare. But how can these developments be taken to the next level?
One company successfully incorporating 3D printing into the development and manufacturing process is General Electric (GE). On June 11, Christine Furstoss, the Global Technology Director for Manufacturing & Materials for GE, will present at the upcoming MD&M East Conference, leading a discussion on GE’s utilization of 3D printing now and in the future, from engine blades to medical devices.
3D printing will be explored in detail at MD&M East, which will be held June 9-12 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York, with a series of 2-hour seminars on 3D printing topics, including a general overview of 3D printing applications, what materials can be used, and their cost effectiveness as well as an advanced discussion titled 3D Printing for the Experienced Engineer.
Panels & Innovation Tour free for Expo attendees
On the MD&M East show floor, there will also be presentations on 3D printing content free for attendees. Attendees can take a break from walking the show floor to learn more about this revolutionary technology in a panel discussion on Tuesday, June 10 from 1:20pm to 2:00pm in the Center Stage presentation theater. After this Tuesday panel, and again on Thursday, attendees can see the technology in action in an expert-guided ‘Innovation Tour’ to various 3D printing exhibitor booths.
