Technique bolsters its colour credentials and plate capacity

Monday 05. May 2014 - Technique Print Group is strengthening its colour credentials with Prinect Colour Toolbox and it is taking the opportunity to upgrade its CtP, moving from a Screen Platerite to a Heidelberg Suprasetter A75 device.

The Banbury Company has already increased its pressroom capacity by moving to double day shifts so having a higher output CtP device which can reliably produce plates even when unmanned is a big bonus. The company needs to feed its hungry Speedmaster XL 75-5+LX.
“We will increase our net output by a third to about 16 plates an hour and, because the machine is reliable, we can know exactly what we will be spending on plate production over the next five years. Heidelberg has a good track record, we know the platesetter will work well with the Prinect workflows we run and they came back to us with an attractive deal,” says Karl Smith, managing director.
The CtP device has been delivered and Technique Print has elected to source its plates through Heidelberg.
By adding Color Toolbox at the same time it will strengthen its ability to run to the Fogra 39 standard and with the closed loop connectivity linking to the press and specifically to the Axis Control spectral measurement device its customers can be assured of the accuracy of colour match. It will next investigate ISO 12647-2 certification.
Most of its work is drawn from within a 50 mile radius although it has some customers as far away as Cornwall and Scotland. The company services publishers, marketing departments, agencies and point of sale customers.
