Charles Rutstein named Chief Executive Officer at RISI

Monday 05. May 2014 - RISI, the leading information provider for the global forest products industry, today announced the hiring of Charles Rutstein as Chief Executive Officer.

Rutstein comes to RISI from Forrester Research. During his nearly 14-year tenure, he held a variety of different positions, most recently Chief Operating Officer. Under his leadership, Forrester’s revenue nearly doubled, earnings more than doubled, and the firm’s stock outperformed the NASDAQ by a wide margin. Rutstein also focused much of his time and attention on improving the customer experience for Forrester clients, both online and offline.

Rutstein began his career at Forrester as an analyst, and was later promoted into a director position overseeing technology research at the firm. He then ran Forrester’s consulting business, where he designed and built a new operating model for the business. Rutstein later ran Forrester’s Leadership Boards (executive peer networking) and events businesses.
Before he joined Forrester, Rutstein worked as principal consultant for Price Waterhouse Management Consulting Services. As a member of the Price Waterhouse Global Systems Solutions Center, he helped to devise and implement technology strategy for many of the firm’s largest clients.
Rutstein holds a B.A. in economics from Hobart College and an M.B.A. in strategic and entrepreneurial management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
