Technotrans offers digital and litho peripherals options
Friday 28. March 2014 - Technotrans has extended beyond litho into the digital printing arena and at Ipex announces a peripherals installation at Falkland Press for its new Indigo HP 10000 .
Technotrans hopes to field a number of enquiries about digital press cooling and about its service as well as its cooling, inking and dampening products and it is offering the chance to win an iPad on its stand.
“Service will also be a hot issue here at ExCel. The capital cost of equipment coupled with the just in time mentality of print buyers means no one can afford for a press, digital or litho, to be down and unsupported. We have seen a surge in maintenance contracts over the past few months and we think this will continue. Other hot topics at Ipex will be HUV presses, pressroom conditions (water-cooled peripherals and humidification) and cartridge and bulk inking,” says Peter Benton.
“We expect to have talks with a number of OEMS as well as end users at this show,” says Mr Benton. “Our beta.c.eco circulator will feature on the Komori HUV press. The compressors on this system, which normally run either at 0 or 100% output, are able to operate at variable speed, saving energy and reducing carbon impact. This is part of a whole environmental package which also includes beta.f filtration for cleaning and recycling dampening solution, reducing the amount of chemistry consumed and in need of disposal.”
technotrans’ offers pressroom audits and supplies water treatment (right pH and hardness), filtration, bulk and cartridge based inking, temperature control and water-cooled peripherals and humidification. Its engineers are f-gas qualified and it can discuss latest legislative requirements including the impending end to all r22 refrigerants.
“Pressroom peripherals do give quality and financial payback. Eliminating variables, be it the water used in the dampening solution or the temperature of the ink when it hits the paper, enhances quality, reduces waste and means more sheets on the ground. It’s that simple. It can also reduce maintenance time, make life easier for the operator and safeguard the value of the press,” says Peter Benton, managing director.
Technotrans will also present seminars on water-cooled peripherals and humidification at Heidelberg’s 2020 Vision event on 27 and 28 March.
