Kodak Alaris Enables Eye-Catching Backlit Displays with Enhanced Version of KODAK PROFESSIONAL ENDURA Clear Display Material

Thursday 23. January 2014 - Those responsible for creating strong visual merchandising products can now create even higher quality output with the improved KODAK PROFESSIONAL ENDURA Clear Display Material from Kodak Alaris.

The media, a clear-base color transparency material for use on illuminators with built-in diffusers, leverages Kodak Alaris’ improved cyan dispersion technology. With this new technology, ENDURA Clear Display Material offers a larger color gamut with the capacity for more saturated color while at the same time maintaining accurate skin tone reproduction, highlights and shadow detail. It also continues Kodak Alaris’ commitment to bringing the highest quality media to the market – comprising look, durability and consistency – that’s also the most cost effective and efficient for creating display materials.
“Our ENDURA Display Materials, including both this improved product as well as our KODAK PROFESSIONAL ENDURA Transparency Display Material, provide world-class brands with trusted materials that deliver both high quality and consistency,” said Dennis Olbrich, president of Kodak Alaris’ Personalized Imaging business. “For our commercial customers who print display materials for these brands, this offers two benefits. First, they can assure that they will deliver the highest quality, most durable displays that translate a company’s discerning aesthetics into eye-grabbing backlit displays. Second, they can create a more effective workflow, due to the media’s roll-to-roll and batch-to-batch consistency, saving internal resources while more efficiently and cost-effectively meeting their clients’ needs.”
Coloredge, the largest provider of high-end visual brand imaging solutions, uses both wide format signage and digital screen advertising displays to enhance brand imaging for upscale retailers, consumer products, museums and sports arenas. “We do a lot of backlit printing and a significant amount is done on KODAK PROFESSIONAL ENDURA Clear Display Material,” said Oneil Dial, vice president of production management at Coloredge. “We began using the new ENDURA Clear Display Material as soon as it became available. We were extremely happy with the larger color gamut. This new emulsion works great for our clients and we are thrilled with the increased richness and saturation of color.”
To support the improved media, Kodak Alaris will provide customers with new technology in its ICC output profiles. Kodak Alaris will post a set of three profiles for each printer, which will offer labs the option to select from three levels of color saturation:
— Natural Color
— High Color
— Max Color
Each set of profiles will enable Kodak Alaris’ lab customers’ clients to choose a profile which results in exactly the “look” they desire in their printed images.
The new ENDURA Clear Display Material is available now in the US and on a stock turn-over basis in Europe and the Asia/Pacific region in Q1, 2014. Customers should check with their local representatives for more specific arrival information.
