Key industry players at viscom düsseldorf 2013 – Brand staging as the focus topic

Thursday 18. April 2013 - "A kick start and revitalisation of the market", "took off at full speed right away", "high-quality, very target-oriented contacts", "one of the best viscom fairs of the past few years" - those were the conclusions drawn by the exhibitors at the close of viscom frankfurt 2012.

Not least, the positive impetus it gave to the industry was the result of absolute record figures: with 327 exhibitors, the number of companies taking part had risen by seven percent compared to the previous year. Similarly, the 12,100 trade visitors established a new record in Frankfurt. This explains the sense of pleasant anticipation regarding this year’s viscom which will take place in Düsseldorf from 7 to 9 November. “We are working full steam to make sure that viscom düsseldorf 2013 will continue the success in Frankfurt”, says viscom Director Petra Lassahn. “As in the previous years, we focus on two aspects: on the one hand, to bring together the right companies and target groups, on the other to offer a high-calibre supporting programme with examples of best practices to demonstrate the capabilities of visual communication.”
Around 200 exhibitors to date
70 percent of the area in the viscom halls 8a and 8b of the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre are already occupied. About 200 exhibitors have registered. Among them are once again the most important companies from the printing industry such as Agfa Graphics, Canon, Epson, Fujifilm Sericol, Hewlett-Packard, Hexis, Igepa Group, Karl Gröner, Mimaki-nbn, Multi-Plot, Mutoh, Roland DG Benelux, Seiko Instruments or Spandex/Brunner. From the digital signage segment, LG Electronics or NEC Display Solutions, for instance, will put their new products on display, among those present in the Display/PoS segment will be Kersten Technic and Ultima Displays.
However, a large number of first-time exhibitors are also expected at viscom in Düsseldorf. OKI Systems will celebrate its premiere with a stand of its own here. One newcomer in the advertising technology sector, for instance, is seeeye Werbung & Event, another in the Display/PoS segment is MBS sign factory from France.
A new edition of the viscom World of Inspiration
Not merely the plans for the positions of the exhibiting companies in the halls but also the special areas and the supporting programme are taking shape, “although half a year before the opening of the trade fair we are not yet in a position to disclose everything”, says Petra Lassahn. However, it is already certain that there will be a repeat of the viscom World of Inspiration, an area which offered know-how and best practices in the form of, for instance, a materials exhibition, the nominated digital signage projects as well as a comprehensive lecture programme. The highlight was the replica of a supermarket where exhibitors had the opportunity to present their new products in a true-to-life setting. viscom düsseldorf 2013 will continue this approach.
Visual staging: brand loyalty through customer experience
Visual communication in brand staging is the focus of the viscom 2013 supporting programme. Brand staging to initiate the purchasing process has become a natural element in promotion and marketing. Meanwhile, however, the customers’ wish for experience, uniqueness and lifestyle has also reached the Point of Sale. Whether customer, guest or visitor: at that most decisive of all points of contacts, an emotional connection is more important than ever. Consistent visual staging is growing in importance; straightforward selling is no longer the sole measure of all things in the retail sector.
The question of how to turn selling, a visit to a hotel, an airport or similar into an experience stands at the very centre of the viscom 2013 supporting programme. For three days, everything here will revolve around processes, projects, technologies and applications which transform shopping into an event.
