RISI Announces Shortlist of PPI Awards 2012 Winners

Wednesday 12. September 2012 - RISI, the leading information provider for the global forest products industry, today announced the shortlist of potential winners of the Pulp & Paper International (PPI) Awards 2012 program. The final winners will be announced and will receive their trophy at the PPI Awards 2012 dinner and awards ceremony on Monday, November 12 in Brussels, Belgium.

Mark Rushton, Editor of PPI Magazine and Chairman of the jury for the PPI Awards 2012 commented: “Over the course of the last four years we at RISI have watched with growing pride as the PPI Awards have caught the imagination of the pulp and paper industry around the globe. We now have entries coming in from all continents and from many countries all over the world, with submissions across all the different grades and products, and with an increasingly extremely high quality. We would like to specially thank the dedicated people at the various pulp and paper mills and companies who took the time out to deliver these excellent and well presented entries.”
“As the entries have expanded each year so have the awards categories,” continued Rushton. “We have introduced three new categories this year, including ones covering Innovation in Speciality Papers, Sustainable Packaging and Breakthrough Technologies. We would like to specially thank our highly esteemed judges for their dedication and hard work this year, it has truly been a Herculean effort on their part!”
Judges include high profile industry figures Teresa Presas (CEPI), Martyn Eustace (Two Sides), Rod Young (RISI) and Bob Latham (Delphi Projects).
The awards ceremony will take place in the evening on Monday, November 12, in Brussels, Belgium. Prior to the ceremony, RISI is offering an afternoon seminar which includes the popular “Big Debate” on, this year on the subject of “The Future of Graphic Papers”. The “Big Debate” is hosted in association with HP and ColorLok Technology. The seminar will also include presentations from Greenpeace and CEPI on the subject of sustainability in the pulp and paper industry.
