The drupa 2012, the world’s largest print media fair opens on 3rd May 2012 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
According to the official announcement, with more than 1,850 exhibitors from over 50 countries worldwide and expected 350,000 visitors, drupa 2012 is to be the next largest drupa event in history to last drupa 2008. One of the drupa 2012-specific features is growing presence of China, in terms of the number of exhibitors as well as visitors.
The most growing technology/product category exhibited, is digital printing and associated technology or service. Even last drupa 2008 was called “inkjet drupa” but drupa 2012 is more business oriented, not technology for display nor technology for future.
New product: UV inkjet printing system for label market
Screen has newly announced UV inkjet label printing system, the Truepress Jet L350UV. It is shown and live demonstrated for the first time in public at drupa.
Truepress Jet L350UV supports 100-350 mm (3.9”-13.7”) width and offers 50m(164ft)/min high speed productivity. Its maximum 16.1 square metre/min productivity is world top class in its label print-on-demand category. It features reproduction of smooth gradations thanks to its latest grayscale printheads with a minimum droplet size of 3 picolitres.

New product: Wide-format UV inkjet printing system
The Truepress Jet W1632UV is Screen’s another new product announcement at drupa 2012. It is developed for the most demanding segment in sign and display market, POP application.
It supports 1.6×3.2m (5x10ft) format and offers 94 square metre/hour productivity and optional extra high quality using LcLm ink.
*Sales territory of this model is U.K. and North America as of May 2012.
