MEI Offers Special Package for Tablet-Publishing InDesign Workflows
Thursday 05. May 2011 - Cost-effective vjoon K4 software bundle easily integrates with leading digital publishing tools from Adobe
Managing Editor Inc. (MEI) today announced special software packages and pricing for customers purchasing the vjoon K4 Cross-Media Publishing Platform and the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. These offerings make it easy and affordable to integrate the preeminent editorial and design workflow-management system with the emerging standard for publishing to Apples iPad and other tablet devices.
The announcement coincides with the release earlier this week of the Professional Edition of Adobes Digital Publishing Suite (DPS). MEIs cost-effective vjoon K4 Digital Publishing Packages include the latest version of the vjoon K4 Cross-Media Publishing Platform, a special DPS connector, Adobe InDesign Server to enhance performance for layout and automated workflows, and K4 Overview Advanced, an add-on that allows users to monitor the publishing workflow and review K4 pages from any Web browser.
MEIs packages also come with preconfigured standard workflows for tablet publishing, which allow creative teams to get started producing content for new devices quickly and seamlessly.
“Publishers across the globe are embracing the Digital Publishing Suite as the best tool for building tablet editions in InDesign,” said Brett Kizner, product marketing manager at MEI. “By integrating DPS with vjoon K4s innovative task-based workflow model, smaller publishing houses and corporate publishers now have a turnkey solution that enables professional-grade publishing and distribution of digital content.”
vjoon K4 enhances the publishing tools provided by Adobe Creative Suite and leverages industry standards to ensure a smooth transition to Adobe DPS. The just-announced K4 Version 6.4 features a host of new capabilities and is fully compatible with Adobe Creative Suite 5.5.
K4 Digital Publishing Packages are available now from MEI. Prices for individual vjoon K4 Digital Publishing Packages are based on the number of seats purchased. Entry-level packages are available from two seats. Adobe DPS is sold separately. Customers may upgrade to larger packages whenever they wish.
“This special offer makes vjoon K4 an even more affordable and intelligent investment than ever before,” said Linda Bruce, vice president of enterprise sales at MEI. “Our goal is to provide all publishers with access to the industrys best tools for producing tablet content, backed by a robust, effective publishing workflow, no matter the size of their operation.”
MEI is currently hosting a traveling series of informative sessions showcasing its expert tablet services and Adobes Digital Publishing Suite. The presentations allow publishers and corporate communicators to see the software in action, in addition to hearing from and interacting with software specialists from Adobe and MEI. For those who cant attend an event in person, MEI is hosting a live online broadcast of its May 25 tour stop.
