LARGE INCREASE IN VISITORS AT GULF PRINT & PACK
Monday 28. March 2011 - Gulf Print & Pack 2011, which took place 14-17 March, was attended by 8,187 visitors, a nine percent increase on the previous edition. This confirmed Gulf Print & Packs undisputed status as the leading printing event in the Middle East and North Africa.
Visitors came from 83 countries (65 in 2009) and 36% of the overall attendance was from outside the United Arab Emirates (30% in 2009) – both strong indicators of the industrys growth across the entire region.
The show was notable for the strong sales on the show floor. Canon, who exhibited together with Océ, secured several contracts early in the show, including one for over US$ 500,000.
This was the first edition of the show to be organized by the same team behind the Labelexpo Global Series.
One of the many highlights during the show was the afternoon seminar program, focused on three main topics – security and anti-counterfeiting, digital solutions and package printing/converting. Most of the sessions had standing room only.
The success of the show was reflected in the strong demand for space at the next edition. 56% of the available space had already been booked by the time the show closed.
The organizers of Gulf Print & Pack have also announced that a new conference and table-top exhibition for the package printing industry, called Pack Print Summit, will take place in Dubai in November 2012.
Roger Pellow, Managing Director of Gulf Print & Pack, said, “We are very pleased with the feedback from the show. Gulf Print & Pack exceeded expectations by attracting printers in greater numbers and from more countries than before, emphasizing the strong growth in the region. The number of large business deals concluded at the show is very encouraging and a sign of good things to come.”
