cei (Coating Excellence International) Wins IoPP AmeriStar Award for Pinch Bottom Poly Woven Bags
Monday 14. March 2011 - cei (Coating Excellence International), the market leading flexible packaging and technical products company, today announced they are a proud recipient of the 2011 IoPP (Institute of Packaging Professionals) AmeriStar Award for their exclusive pinch bottom poly woven bags.
The AmeriStar Packaging Competition is an annual event sponsored by the IoPP and showcases the most ground-breaking, innovative packages of the year. Judging criteria for this distinguished award was based on innovation, product protection, economics, package performance, marketing and environmental impact.
Since 2006, cei has been the leading U.S. manufacturer of 100% recyclable poly woven bags. These poly woven bags are used to package products sold into numerous market segments, including most notably dry pet food as well as other market segments that package bulk items such as lawn and garden, agricultural products, dry cement, bulk sugar and grains, as well as animal seed and feed.
The new pinch bottom heat-seal closure option provides cei’s customers with an alternative to the traditional sewn-closure bags. cei’s exclusive pinch bottom option offers the benefits of an attractive display area for product messages, and performs like paper bags on existing heat-seal equipment filling lines with the added benefit of controlled COF for optimized palletisation. That means no more sewing at filling lines. The pinch closure for the filling line can be combined with sewing, roll-fold and tape, or slide zipper at the cei closed end.
“These domestically manufactured pinch bottom poly woven bags provide the benefits of durability, strength, sustainability and competitive differentiation. It’s rewarding to be recognized for our hard work and commitment to quality and innovation,” stated Robb Schaefer, cei’s Vice President of Flexible Packaging.
cei will be featuring these innovative, award winning bags at PetFood Forum, April 11-13 at the Renaissance Hotel in Schaumburg, IL.
