Axel Springer acquires stake in technology service provider InterRed

Thursday 03. February 2011 - Axel Springer AG has acquired a 24 percent equity interest in InterRed GmbH.

Founded in 2001, the software developer and technology service provider is one of the leading providers of editing systems, knowledge management and “multi-channel-publishing” solutions for the production of newspapers and magazines. Axel Springer has been using InterRed’s software solutions for several years, including its content management systems for various magazines websites, the marketing unit Axel Springer Media Impact (axelspringer-mediapilot.de), Axel Springer Infopool as well as the corporate website axelspringer.com and the company-wide intranet.
In the future also BILD and BILD am SONNTAG will be produced with InterRed’s content management system. The software’s flexibility allows an individual adaption to the specific needs of both media brands.

Beyond Axel Springer, InterRed’s customers are, among others, BASF, Lufthansa and Volksbanken.
