Nitro PDF Software Releases Update for Nitro PDF Professional, Introducing All-New Functionality and Improved User Experience

Friday 21. January 2011 - Free Update for Existing v6.x Users Adds Expanded Encryption and Conversion Capabilities Alongside a More Intuitive User Interface

Nitro PDF Software, the company behind the award-winning Nitro PDF Reader, today announced the latest update for its flagship solution, Nitro PDF Professional, introducing significant new functionality, performance enhancements, and usability improvements. Free to all currently licensed version 6 users, this update includes support for 256-bit encryption/decryption, conversion of PDF to multi-page TIFF format, and context-aware user interface panels that intelligently respond to the PDF file displayed on-screen.
“Many software companies refrain from adding new functionality until major version releases — typically those that all current license holders would be charged for,” said Nitro’s SVP of Sales and Marketing, Gina O’Reilly. “This release is a response to the evolving needs of our customers and our market. We’re particularly excited to offer this update as it also introduces some of the most popular functionality first debuted in Nitro Reader, such as the integration of our Evernote partner plug-in.”
The update also adds the following functionality to refresh and improve user experience:
One-click flattening of layered objects during the save process — such as forms or annotations — preventing future manipulation
Automatic activation of static URLs, converting text to ‘clickable’ hyperlinks
Intelligent side panels and real-time position and zoom-level indication in the Bookmarks and Pages panels
Automatic display of the most recently viewed page upon opening a PDF file
