SCA Packaging Takes Home the 2010 Global Pulp & Paper International Award for “Promotional Campaign of the Year”
Thursday 25. November 2010 - Organised by RISI, the leading information provider for the global forest products industry, the PPI Awards program honours leadership, vision, innovation and strategic accomplishments within the pulp and paper industry.
The PPI Awards took place on November 16th in Brussels to celebrate the only global awards dedicated to recognising the achievements of companies, mills and individuals in the pulp and paper sector.
SCA had two nominations this year. One for SCA Packaging’s “Design Challenge” and the second for SCA Containerboard’s “Presentation Liners” both within the category of Promotional Campaign of the Year Award. Ultimately, SCA Packaging’s “Design Challenge” took home the 2010 PPI Award for best Promotional Campaign of the Year.
Jury comments:
“This winning campaign has been described as outstanding and truly different by the judges – an entry which shows an out of the box approach to reach audiences that wouldn’t usually be tapped. Judges felt that the campaign reached beyond the paper industry, while generating excitement about a basic industry product. The images were striking and all channels were extremely well used.”
About the Design Challenge:
The Design Challenge is an online marketing campaign for students & non professional packaging designers where the participants have to come up an environmental friendly total packaging concept. The first 2 editions attracted more than 300 students of our 25 countries submitting a packaging concept. Three of the finalists were later hired as designers in the Innovation Centre.
By organising this challenge SCA Packaging wants to stimulate free thinking and innovation and generating positive PR for the company. SCA Packaging’s customers could also access new and innovative concepts as all the relevant concepts were gathered in an online voting campaign and to some of the major players within the FMCG segment.
SCA’s next Design Challenge will be launched in September 2011.
