SPOTON! TO INTRODUCE G7 / ISO12647-7 VERIFICATION TECHNOLOGY AT GRAPH EXPO

Wednesday 29. September 2010 - Ø     SpotOn! Verify quickly identifies if proofs and press sheets are within tolerance to specifications, while monitoring print and proof conditions to help determine calibration intervals;

Ø     The new technology will also equip proof providers with a report showing the quality of their proofs, quickly identify trouble spots, and provide sales with tools and reports to prove the quality of printing to customers and prospects;

Ø     Compatible with both Mac and Windows systems, SpotOn! Verify will be available as both a stand-alone product by the end of Q4 2010, and as an add-on module to the SpotOn! base package in Q1 2011.

SpotOn! today announced SpotOn! Verify, a new software tool for content creators, printers, photographers, and proof providers that gives a quick pass/fail verification of a proof’s conformance G7 and ISO12647-7 metrics. Upon completion of the analysis, SpotOn! Verify produces a printable sticker-sized report to attach to a proof, press sheet, or any other color reproduction to indicate the pass/fail condition of the sheet matching a reference standard or specification. SpotOn! Verify will be exhibited in the Color Management booth (#4049) as a technology introduction at Graph Expo (Chicago, October 3-5) and is expected to be available to the market before the end of Q4, 2010. The Value of SpotOn! Verify

SpotOn! Verify is both an internal quality control tool and external vendor verification tool that indicates whether proofs are being produced within specified tolerances or not. SpotOn! Verify can be used to evaluate any printing process where a test target can be printed and measured and will quickly identify if a sheet is in or out of tolerance. SpotOn! Verify can also store measurements in a database that can be filtered and searched, so recorded data can be recalled at a later date.

It’s compatible with both Mac and Windows operating systems and will be available as both a stand-alone product or add-on module to the SpotOn! base package. When added to the base package, the features will be extended to include detailed trend analysis of collected data. Trend reports can be produced to help ensure the device being monitored stays within established tolerances.

SpotOn Quote

“SpotOn! Verify will help those interested in improving printing consistency, increasing customer satisfaction, and differentiating their production quality from others in their market,” notes SpotOn! Press president Bruce Bayne. “Though we’re still in the testing phase, we’re confident in stating that SpotOn! Verify will become a content creator’s best friend. It will easily identify if proofs and press sheets are within specified tolerances to GRACoL or SWOP. Printers will appreciate the ability to attach a passing proof sticker on each proof sent to customers, and sales staff will be confident they are providing their customers with the highest quality proofs. The result is reduced downtime (since calibration issues can be caught early), greater confidence in the production department, and a marketable quality difference.”
