USA TODAY Wins MOBI Award for Best Mobile App for Editorial Content
Monday 20. September 2010 - USA TODAY has been named the winner of the 2010 MOBI award for best mobile App for editorial content for the USA TODAY iPad App. The MOBI awards honor brand innovators in mobile marketing and advertising. The announcement was made on September 13 at the MOBI awards gala in New York City.
The USA TODAY iPad App launched on April 3 and has been ranked in the iTunes store as a leading news App and a leading free App since its debut. The App has been downloaded more than 940,000 times.
“We take pride in this award that recognizes our outstanding editorial content on our iPad App. Our primary goal continues to be to provide the best in content for our readers and advertisers on all of our platforms whether it’s mobile, print or online,” said David L. Hunke, president and publisher of USA TODAY.
The other finalists for the award were the Los Angeles Times and TMZ. The MOBI awards are selected by an esteemed judging committee of leading mobile media and marketing experts, journalists, insiders, marketers, publishers and mobile technology visionaries.
