How do visual technologies support customer focused experience

Wednesday 18. August 2010 - Second edition of the viscom tec. conference in Frankfurt in autumn

What are the technologies that will change communication in future? And how will they change it? Under the slogan “Create customer focused experience with technology” speakers and participants at the viscom tec.10 conference in Frankfurt/Main will explore these issues. Following its successful premiere last year in Düsseldorf, this will already be the second viscom tec conference and will again precede viscom, the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication. It will take place one day before the start of the fair, on 3 November 2010, at the “Farbenfabrik” in Frankfurt.

Here all discussions focus on the consumer and his media use and buying behaviour. In its lectures, the viscom tec.10 conference follows him through the process of deciding on a product or service. The conference concentrates on the possibilities of visual communication for supporting the consumer on this path – from using media at his own home to contact with media in public areas through to the point of sale. Classic advertising media such as print or TV will be dealt with as well as web and mobile based applications, out-of-home or digital signage. The aim is to point out ways and means to reach consumers who are increasingly well-informed and networked.

Among others, the conference will explore four current trends. One focus will be on media use. Different types of media such as newspapers, DVDs, television, radio and the Internet will increasingly converge. New mobile technologies, as well as display and touch technologies in tablet PCs profoundly change media use at home. Videogames and their influence on visual perception are another topic. The conference will also discuss the challenges posed by demographic change. One of the issues arising here concerns the ability of visual communication to take account of the fact that the number of elderly consumers will increase. On the other hand, young people and their media use and buying behaviour will also be a topic.

Participants will hear outstanding speakers from a large variety of technological, research and business fields. The conference language is German, simultaneous translation into English will be provided. viscom tec.10 is not only a conference but also a networking event. Following the lecture periods, the viscom tec.10 mixer event will take place in the evening. Here participants and speakers have the opportunity to make new contacts and to renew existing ones.
