“TRESU Combi Technology” – New coating concept from TRESU eliminates foam

Thursday 06. May 2010 - The TRESU Combi Technology concept consists of the new TRESU UniPrint Combi Chamber and the new generation of coating circulators L10i Aqua/UV and L30i Combi.

’i’ for intelligence refers, among other things, to the new modern windows based control system of the coating circulator, with icons ensuring an easy use and simple installation of the system.

TRESU Combi Technology offers many customer advantages. This new pressurized chamber technology prevents air from building up in the chamber cavity and the end result is that no foam is allowed to build up in the coating supply container. This is applicable for both UV and water-based coatings and at high production speeds.

TRESU Combi Technology with an L30i Combi coating circulator has been tested at Vestergaard book printing in Aalborg in the northern part of Denmark.

According to the General Manager of the print shop, Mr. Knud Vestergaard, the advantages of the new system are numerous” TRESU Combi Technology works really well, the coating circulator is easy to use and doesn’t take up much space. The feedback from the operators is that the pump is simple to use and the display makes it easy to operate the system and get to know the different functions.

The new pressure controlled chamber technology eliminates foam in the coating, which is a huge advantage, especially when working with sensitive coatings.”

Before TRESU Combi Technology was installed, the print shop often experienced problems with foam, especially when printing large jobs. Knud Vestergaard continues “The greatest operational improvements using the new technology is that we can run a full production without worrying about foam. Earlier we had problems with foam in the coating and the only way to avoid it was to decrease the production speed (6000-7000 sheet/hour) and we had to change the coating container. With the new technology, we can run nonstop with 12000 sheets/hour without any foaming problems and without unnecessary production breaks.”

The installation of TRESU Combi Technology has also been made easier, among other things, the new coating circulator detects the size of the complete system, where after the data are automatically inserted. This feature decreases the installation costs.

Besides the new coating circulators L10i Aqua/UV and L30i Combi the TRESU Combi Technology, like earlier mentioned, also consists of the new TRESU UniPrint Combi chamber system. TRESU UniPrint combi is a streamlined and compact designed system with very easy handling, equipped with the well-known TRESU Seal technology and the TRESU E-Line eccentric blade clamping technology, perfectly adjusted to any type of offset printing units.

TRESU has already experienced a huge success with this new system and as such, the TRESU Combi Technology is running on Komori LS40, Mitsubishi Diamond V3000, Ryobi 1050 and Müller Martini Alprinta 74V presses in Europe, Japan and USA. The new technology will be presented at the IPEX exhibition in Birmingham in May.
