New products at Ipex: Vit2Print to release improved version of print management software
Wednesday 05. May 2010 - Vit2Print releases two new web applications of the Vit2Print software suite at Ipex 2010 in Hall 12, booth C 171. The software has been extended in order to support graphic arts companies in their transition into a "print service provider" via the integration of both ProjectVit - an online marketing campaign manager - and CataVit - a database-driven web app for the automatic generation of booklets.
Vit2Print is a web-based publishing suite that contains several modules. Each module has its specific aim and can be used independently as well as in cooperation with other modules. In this manner, customers are able to define and set-up a solution that fits and improves their existing workflow. The suite is now extended with addditional functionalities to empower the business of “communication service providers”.
The new modules are branded – analogously to the existing modules – ProjectVit and CataVit. Before explaining the new modules, lets have a closer look at the aims of the existing modules of the software:
FormVit: e-commerce for printed matter (web2print with VDP)
CorrectVit: online correction and approval
TransVit: online multilingual document production (includes solutions for packaging)
DataVit: online database connection manager and data management
PhotoVit: online image bank
PuzzleVit: database publishing for web2print
On top of the above modules, the suite now contains an extra layer for the management of marketing campaigns and projects: ProjectVit. The new online application allows to plan, set out and manage workflows for marketing campaigns. The approach results in the definition of a campaign with multiple projects targeted at defined markets. The Marketing Director defines which parts of which project ought to be executed by which user within the defined time schedule. Consequently, the user sees his tasks and by clicking on it, is immediately redirected to the correct Vit2Print application (e.g.: translation task redirects to TransVit). The marketing director can easily follow-up the progress of the projects by generating timelines and graphs from the campaign and / or projects.
The second application to be released at Ipex 2010 is branded “CataVit”. The new online collaboration tool allows marketers to cooperate online with the prepress on the production of e.g. catalogues. CataVit fits itself particularly well for the production of product catalogues – since those publications are based on structured databases with clear productgroup definitions (such as: price, model, image, etc.) for each record. Regardless of the name CataVit, the application can be addressed to generate any booklet (not necessarily a catalogue) via the CataVit interface.
As a result of the newly added tools, Vit2Print customers can offer their customers an enhanced service: from marketing campaign planning over translation management to the effective printing of marketing collateral. This transition into a print or marketing service provider seems to be a good strategy to sustain the negative trends the graphic arts industry is coping with. “With over 20 years in the industry, we clearly understand the pressure that came on prepress over time. With our print management software Vit2Print, we provide our customers sustainable business solutions to sustain and adopt to the new circumstances within the realms of the prepress world” – states Filip Desseyn, Director NSS.
