All tests passed: Positive assessment by Friedrich Freund GmbH after around 18 months of production with the Speedmaster XL 145

Wednesday 24. March 2010 - Friedrich Freund GmbH in Georgsmarienhütte took the world's first Speedmaster XL 145 into service in June 2008. After around 18 months the company's comments are throughout positive: Among others, the packaging expert benefits from shorter makeready times and higher production speed, whereas the print quality is of constantly high level.

Foundation for the Freund Group had been laid more than 100 years ago. Today the company employs a workforce of 230 at its sites in Georgsmarienhütte and Nordhausen, Germany. The Freund GmbH is primarily active in the packaging sector – about 70 percent. The industrial publishing sector amounts to about 30 percent.

Managing Director Karl-Heinz Freund underlined, that the main reason for the entry in the very large format (VLF) were the positive experiences made with Heidelberg in the past. Apart from the Speedmaster XL 145 with Prinect Press Center including a wallscreen, the printshop is also equipped with a Speedmaster CD 102 6+L and in the postpress arena as well with a Dymatrix 106 CSB and a Diana Pro 74.
