Everseal Mailers Ltd Fails in Challenge to Mastermailer Products

Thursday 25. February 2010 - In an opinion received by Mastermailer Stationery Ltd yesterday, the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office has found that products made according to Mastermailer's UK patent number GB2436210 do not infringe UK patent number GB2400373 owned by Mr Jonathan Horler and licensed to Everseal Mailers Ltd ('the Horler patent').

Mastermailer is pleased to repeat the statement released yesterday, 23 February, that it is entirely satisfied that its products do not infringe the Horler patent. Furthermore, Mastermailer believes that the Horler Patent is invalid (and therefore cannot be enforced).
Mastermailer takes this opportunity to reassure all its customers that they are free to continue to buy and use Mastermailer’s products notwithstanding various threats and assertions made by Everseal Mailers. Mastermailer has issued proceedings in the Patents County Court to have the Horler patent struck out (i.e. revoked pursuant to the Patents Act 1977) and will pursue appropriate legal redress against Everseal Mailers for their actions.
Everseal Mailers Ltd, along with Evrite Ltd and Evrite Software Ltd, is part of the Evrite Group of companies, owned and controlled by Mr Stephen Black’s family. Evrite Ltd is subject to a winding-up petition to be heard in the Royal Courts of Justice on 17 March 2010.
