Hemlock’s Sustainable Wrapping Papers

Thursday 17. December 2009 - Amidst all the hustle and bustle of frenzied holiday shopping, wrapping paper often becomes an afterthought, but not for us. We believe a beautifully wrapped package is as exciting to receive as the gift itself, which is why we love the Hemlock Holiday Gift Wrap Set, printed on 5 grades of Mohawk papers: Renewal, Kromekote, Options, 50/10, and Via.

Hemlock Printers is a sustainably-minded printing company located just outside of Vancouver. Their Holiday Gift Wrap set which they sent to all of their clients includes 8 sheets of gorgeous wrapping paper and 30 matching gift tags designed by Braun/Allison.

Recipients will be wrapping this year’s gifts with four different designs — purple checkerboard with pink and blue swirls printed on a gloss-varnished Mohawk Kromekote, brown wrap with a pattern of blue and gray pine trees on Mohawk Options Smooth, a metallic blue with swirls and snowflakes on Mohawk 50/10 with a spot gloss varnish, and a green tone on tone with bright intricate designs Mohawk Via Linen. Hemlock used Mohawk Renewal for the folder that is just as charming as the gift wrap it encompasses. “The Renewal ran great,” said Jeff Taylor, Chief Operating Officer, Hemlock Printers. “We’ll be doing our best to spec it again soon.”

Each paper was chosen not only for its high ink holdout, unique finishes and textures, and supreme quality, but also for its sustainable properties. All Mohawk papers are manufactured using 100% windpower and all papers Hemlock used are FSC-certified and contain postconsumer waste.
