Presstek 52DI Digital Offset Press Now Listed on Federal GSA Schedule 70

Monday 07. December 2009 - Agreement Also Allows State and Local Governments to Take Advantage of Pre-Negotiated GSA Pricing

Presstek, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRST), a leading manufacturer and marketer of digital offset printing solutions, today announced that it has been awarded a General Services Administration (GSA) contract that places its flagship product, the Presstek 52DI digital offset press, on the Federal GSA Schedule 70. Contract Number GS-35F-0050W covers the Presstek 52DI and core accessories, including service, training, freight and basic rigging. Listing the 52DI on Schedule 70 makes it easier for Federal agencies to acquire the product. Schedule 70 is also one of the few GSA contracts that allows State and Local Governments to acquire this market leading product at pre-negotiated discounted prices.
“This is a great opportunity for Presstek,” said Mark Levin, Presstek’s President of the Americas Region. “Multiple Government Agencies have already installed Presstek 52DI presses and are enjoying its high quality and productivity, as well as its reduced environmental footprint. We look forward to working with other Federal agencies and State and Local governments to determine how a Presstek 52DI can make their printing operations more efficient and environmentally friendly. This contract offers governmental agencies a pre-negotiated contract price that eliminates the time and expense of going out to bid when they are looking for a new press.”
The Presstek 52DI digital offset press delivers environmentally friendly, fast turnaround, high quality short run color printing, economical in run length quantities from 500 to 20,000. Producing sellable color within 10 minutes at speeds up to 20,000 letter-size pages per hour, the 52DI press supports up to 300 lpi and FM screening — increasing capabilities, throughput and profitability. In addition to imaging chemistry-free plates on press, the 52DI uses waterless inks that significantly reduce the amount of water required in the offset printing process.
The Presstek 52DI press is also available with an inline aqueous coating option that combines DI high quality short-run, cost-effective color with aqueous coating’s speed, durability and visual appeal, opening up new application opportunities. The 52DI-AC reduces cycle time, and quick-drying coatings speed delivery of superior quality printing on a wide range of substrates.
