SCREEN LAUNCHES V7.0 OF TRUEFLOW SE FOR GREATER FUNCTIONALITY AND FLEXIBILITY IN WORKFLOW

Monday 23. November 2009 - This enhanced and optimised upgrade sees the popular workflow solution integrate Adobe PDF Print Engine 2 and is the first bridging step into the Equiosnet environment

Screen has announced version 7.0 of Trueflow SE, its acclaimed workflow solution. It is also the first step in the brand new Equiosnet workflow environment, which integrates CTP and digital print environments.

Trueflow SE v7.0 is robust and easy to use with innovative features. At the heart of this PDF/JDF-based workflow is Adobe PDF Print Engine 2 which maximises reliability, flexibility and quality. Adobe PDF Print Engine 2 allows the processing of native PDF files without the need to convert them to PostScript. It also uses JDF files to keep process-related information separate from the design data, eliminating the need for transformation and compensation. PDF remains unconverted and device independent right up to final output.

Trueflow SE version 7 introduces a brand new approach in its job ticket and imposition engine. This new optimised and enhanced Job function module called Equios Pre4m directly enables the handling of JDF stripping parameters by Trueflow. It is rich in functionality and Screen has added improved job functions to further streamline print production. This module also brings a new approach to imposition that is rich in functionality as well as being robust.

Trueflow SE v7.0 provides flexible and highly automated CTP and digital press production using JDF-based job tickets and also offers improved integration with other production steps such as MIS and post-press. Data and process management in a hybrid workflow are unified under a single system immediately before printing begins. Production personnel can react easily to changes, even last-minute alterations to the number of copies required.

Everything is integrated, from the automated handling of incoming jobs, to prepress production, proofing and output to different digital devices. Trueflow SE v7 makes it possible to build an advanced automated workflow that encompasses the entire print production workflow, from management information systems to press and post-press processing.

It is simple to upgrade from any existing Trueflow level to a Trueflow SE v7.0 environment, including the new Equios Pre4m module, enabling every Trueflow user to benefit the new features, right into the future of workflow. These upgrades will be available early in 2010.
