Oce Business Services Integrates New Advanced Features into its CaseData ASP Document Review System

Wednesday 11. November 2009 - Oce Business Services, an international leader in document process management technology and services, today announced it has integrated several new advanced features into its CaseData(TM) ASP document review system.

Designed by attorneys for law firm and corporate legal professionals, CaseData is a scalable online system that addresses what clients consider most important in the collaborative production, search, and review of electronic data and scanned paper files for litigation and regulatory matters.

“Litigation today requires legal organizations to consistently integrate new time and cost efficiencies into their document review process,” said Joseph R. Marciano, president and CEO of Oce Business Services. “CaseData’s advanced capabilities and ease-of-use enable law firm and corporate attorneys to manage the challenges of electronic discovery with greater accuracy, thoroughness, and control.”

CaseData’s new features include many enhancements designed to make it easier for users to review documents and for case managers to administer document reviews. These enhancements include: automatic categorization of documents into Custodian and Media folders; ability for attorneys to resume their review assignments where they left off; keyword highlighting support for both wildcard and NEAR search terms; new document content viewer features including faster loading time and ability to search within each document; simplified interface for document folder maintenance; and inclusion of similar families in review batches.

CaseData’s expanded administrative security features can streamline the review process in matters involving joint defense. An attorney can maintain one document collection related to a matter and create separate views into the collection so that individual reviewers and subject matter experts only have access to specific documents. New reporting capabilities are also available. Search history reports, for example, provide an audit trail of searches supporting specific document collections; performance reports disclose the time spent on reviews aggregated monthly, weekly, or daily.

CaseData’s extended foreign language support includes automated primary language identification functionality. This feature, which supports common foreign languages including Arabic, Chinese, German, Japanese and Spanish, enables case managers to better plan their document review resource needs.
