EFI Launches EFI eXpress v4.1 Product Family for Fine Art Photos and Perfect Proofs

EFI launched the EFI eXpress 4.1 Product Family, consisting of EFI eXpress for Photo and EFI eXpress for Proofing. Based on the proven EFI Colorproof XF Bestcolor and Fiery technology, both eXpress products ensure exact colour management and provide a valuable set of production tools. With the experience of creating the award winning Fiery print controllers for millions of users, EFI was able to design an easy-to-use software RIP to give photographers, creative directors, print buyers, designers and printers the means to create high-quality photo prints, or validation proofs and contract proofs for predicting the outcome of the final printed product.
EFI eXpress for Photo
The EFI eXpress v4.1 for Photo software RIP is easy to set up, easy to use, and provides high-fidelity photo print production. Even inexperienced users will easily operate the comprehensive set of production tools such as cropping, rotating, and crop mark support. The money- and media-saving automated and manual collection/nesting functionality maximises media usage. Collection templates (e.g. for photobooks) as well as intuitive printing presets make working with EFI eXpress for Photo simple.
EFI eXpress for Proofing
EFI eXpress v4.1 for Proofing offers the same features as EFI eXpress for Photo with the addition of tools for producing high-quality validation and contract proofs.
EFI Colorproof XF-based spot colour simulation technique makes spot colour management easy with full support for all industry standards including PANTONE, DIC, HKS and Toyo spot colour libraries.
Native PDF (Adobe PDF Print Engine) and Adobe PostScript 3 support ensure that PDF, PS and EPS files are ripped correctly and deliver predictable print results.
EFI eXpress for Photo Prints and EFI eXpress for Proofing include professional ICC colour management features such as the support of multi-colour (up to 7 channels) and device link profiles.
Both products are designed for optimum ease of use. They include wizards to easily license, register and set up the application, and accommodate all industry standards for photography, proofing and production. Colour and printing presets for Photo, Proofing, Production, Business Graphics and more are part of the feature set. They also allow users to quickly backup and restore application settings, as well as receive automatic update reminders.
Both include 1,600 individually created printer linearisations and ICC profiles which can be easily updated via any web connection. They also support a continuously updated list of more than 150 printers from Agfa, Canon, Encad, Epson, HP, Mimaki, Mutoh, OKI, Roland, Seiko and Xerox.
