LFP - Large-Format-Printing

USING KONICA MINOLTA INKJET PRINTHEADS, VREMENA GODA HAS DEVELOPED THE FIRST IN UV-FLATBED PRINTER IN RUSSIA.

Friday 16. October 2009 - Vermena Goda, one of Russia’s premier equipment and material suppliers for the production of advertising materials, has moved to a new level in its product development programme with the start of production of their own UV-flatbed printer.

This printer uses Konica-Minolta KM512-series printheads. The printer uses 6 colours plus white ink. The white ink uses a special ink recirculation system developed in conjunction with Industrial Inkjet Ltd. This provides finely controlled re-circulation of the ink to ensure the pigment particles always remain in suspension. The result is a real “depth” to the printed image, with the ability to print directly onto dark media.

The new printer will be launched as the BigPrinter UV2133SW». The print area is more than 2?3 metres, a format very popular with both advertising agencies and also manufacturers of furniture, since it allows printing of standard sized sheets of plastic and composite panels. Because of the large print area the scanning mechanisms used in the printer have been built to the highest accuracy to ensure that the resulting print is of high resolution, as required for interior graphics and decoration.

The big advance of the BigPrinter UV2133SW is that it combines both high print quality with high production speed. The following quotation is from John Corrall, Managing Director of Industrial Inkjet Ltd, who visited Vremena Goda at the beginning of September «I have been particularly impressed with the quality of print, even when printing on dark materials using white ink. The most important factors for Industrial Inkjet Ltd are always the quality and reliability of equipment. I was able to observe the Reliability of the printer over numerous tests during my visit and it was faultless. The printer appeared very stable» –

Arkadiy Agamirov general director of Vremena Goda remarked that Vremana Goda has not yet officially announced the beginning of production of the new UV-printer. Despite this a lot of potential customers have shown a strong interest in this product. During the first official presentation of the printer at the REKLAMA-2009 exhibition in Moscow, the company plans to release the first units for sale.

To allow manufacture of the new UV printer, Vremena Goda has expanded its production facilities. The new premises allow a capacity of ten UV-printers per month.

Mr Agarimov says there was no question about the choice of inkjet printheads to use. «We have already supplied large format printers from Asia or Europe into Russia for more than 6 years. We know about all the inkjet print heads available in the market and we know all their weak and strong points as both suppliers, and users.»
