BOBST launches a high speed sheet feeder for its corrugated board conversion lines

Monday 12. October 2009 - It is well-known that the high speed feeding of nano- and micro-flute corrugated, double wall, and litho-laminated board is difficult. This is exactly why BOBST recently charged its engineers with the task of conceiving a system that would ensure regular and uninterrupted feeding but which would not damage the edge of the corrugated sheet, the overhanging liner, or the printed surface of the board. The development team went away and produced the LOADER-ML stream feeder.

As with the BOBST LOADER, the LOADER-ML can be installed on MASTERCUT 1.7 & 2.1, VISIONCUT, and SPO 160-S flat bed diecutting platens, and on BOBST MASTERFLEX-L and FLEXO 160-VISION print lines. Both loaders can feed materials from O and B-flute, up to 9 mm double wall, with a maximum sheet size of 2’100 mm x 1’300 mm. Depending on the model of machine, the height of the input pile can be from 2’000 to 2’600 mm.

The standard version LOADER feeds using a pusher system. The LOADER-ML version, however, is a top feeder which creates a constant feed stream that prevents damage to fine flutes, liners, laminated sheets, and delicate substrates, as well as fine or heavy solid boards. This top feeding system profits from all the know-how acquired by BOBST during the development of its Autoplaten presses for solid board, and is additionally complemented by a remote diagnosis and assistance system.

With the LOADER-ML, BOBST reaffirms its aim to bring to customers solutions which are both innovative and yet well tested, and which will serve customers over the long term, something which makes the LOADER-ML a particularly attractive investment.
