Gandinnovations at SGIA 2009

Monday 28. September 2009 - Gandinnovations will be exhibiting at SGIA 2009 in New Orleans, LA, USA in booth # 1619 October 7th-9th. The company will exhibit the new NanoJet2 with the Flat-To-Roll (FTR) hybrid option to what is expected to be a record setting attendance.

The FTR is designed specifically for the latest addition to the Gandinnovations printer line, the 1224 NanoJet2, and is expected to cut production time down significantly for shop owners that need a durable hybrid printer. The FTR is a factory installed option which fits onto the front and back of the NanoJet2 and syncs perfectly with the print stepping for reliable flatbed and UV roll-to-roll production. Converting from the flatbed to the roll-to-roll option is accomplished by adjusting the vacuum settings with a couple clicks of the user-friendly GUI.

The FTR effortlessly prints rolled materials up to 8’ wide using reliable beveled hydraulic pinch rollers that keep all flexible materials stable and centered on both the feed and the rewind for seamless roll-to-roll printing. Rigid materials are held firmly in place on the innovative 1.5mtr x 2.4mtr (4’x8’) linear printing table with a strong sectional vacuum throughout the bed. The head carriage system allows for 100% accurate dot placement while printing on both flexible and rigid materials up to 2″ thick. Gandinnovations is currently helping their clients by qualifying materials for the entire line of Jeti printers and reporting objective facts at Gandinnovations.com. Over 156 rigid and flexible materials are currently qualified for the FTR.

“Gandinnovations has always had a lot of success at SGIA,” says Cory Brock, Director of Marketing for Gandinnovations. “We can’t wait to enjoy the culture of New Orleans and have another successful show!”

Along with the NanoJet2 / FTR, Gandinnovations will also exhibit the 3324 Aquajet, its direct-to-fabric-printer, at Print ’09.

The Aquajet is a 3 .3 meter wide format direct-to-fabric printer that uses specially in-house formulated water-based inks to achieve vibrant, brilliant colors that are fade and wash resistant. The Aquajet prints directly on any polyester based fabric and colors burst to life for unlimited applications.

There is no longer a need for transfer paper or a separate heating unit. The Aquajet includes a built-in infrared heater that cures the ink and allows the colors to “pop”. The Aquajet features 24 Gandinnovations Special Edition print heads, is available in 6-color, true 400 dpi resolution and has production speeds of 60 sqm/hr (650 sqft/hr).

The Aquajet comes with 3 high-temperature slitting units attached on the rewind rollers that will allow operators to slit and seal the fabric for the finished required sizes. The 3324 Aquajet is unquestionably the most versatile and fastest 3 meter grand-format digital direct-to-fabric printer in the world and has been designed specifically for the textile printing industry.

Gandinnovations is also planning to exhibit the fastest flatbed printer in the industry, a four-color Jeti 3150 X-2. The Jeti 3150 X-2 UV True UV Flatbed prints at 600 dpi and features 48 Spectra print heads for a mind blowing speed. With speeds above 130 sqm/hr (1400 sqft/hr) at production mode, this flatbed is sure to guarantee graphics manufactures keep up with their demand. The Jeti 3150 X-2 had a similar design to the NanoJet2 using the same linear motion to control movement to ensure perfect registration on rigid and flexible materials but features a larger print area of 5’x10’.

Finally, Gandinnovations will exhibit the printer that started the most recent digital printing revolution, the Jeti 3324. The Jeti 3324 roll to roll digital printer, which features 24 Spectra print heads, is unquestionably the fastest 3.3 meter (10’10”) grand-format printer in the market today. True 600 dpi (1200 apparent) and 6 colors graphics on the Jeti 3324 puts it in a class of its own, producing quality that competes with conventional large format inkjet printers at a far lesser cost.

3M has introduced 3M Piezo Inkjet Ink Series 6200 for use with Gandinnovations Jeti 3312, 3324 & 5024 solvent digital ink printers and will be exhibiting the new ink at the SGIA 2009 show on the Jeti 3324. 3M ink series 6200 is backed by the 3M MCS Warranty when used with 3M media and printed and applied according to 3M technical literature. Gandinnovations Jeti printers and 3M ink series 6200 allow graphics manufacturers to print warranted graphics on durable 3M films ranging from super-cast vinyl films that conform beautifully to deep channels and complex curves, to highly reflective films that never fail to capture the audience’s attention to flexible awning material and almost everything in between.

“Developing ink series 6200 in cooperation with Gandi gives graphics manufacturers and their customers greater confidence by producing graphics backed by the 3M MCS Warranty,” said Jennifer Greenquist, market development manager, 3M Graphics Market Center. “Whether it is for fleet applications or a perfectly printed, two-sided, backlit 3M Panagraphics III Flexible Substrate, the combination of the 3M MCS Warranty and the Jeti Printers provides incredible added value.”

Gandinnovations has expanded its reach in the industry since its inception in 2004 with programs and accessories geared towards helping customers maintain peak productions. Two new products offered by Gandinnovations, the JETiWORX and the Jeti Edge, are specifically designed to keep their clients producing and profitable. The programs provide clients with a maintenance plan, plus on-site technical support and training during the installation of Jeti printers.
