ExpoPrint Latin America 2010 advances preparations for its 2nd edition
Monday 21. September 2009 - From 23 to June 29, 2010 will be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the second edition of ExpoPrint Latin America, a realization of AFEIGRAF (Association of Manufacturers and Agents for Equipments and Supplies of the Brazilian Graphic Industry) with promotion and organization of the AP&S Fairs and Events.
The event, whose first edition happened in 2006, appears today as the largest exhibition of graphics professionals in Latin America. As an example of the relevance of the fair, now, the printing industry of Brazil is responsible alone for 1.5% of GDP (Gross Domestic Product).
Scenario – A few years ago, the world economy has meant that reality to be polarized based on strong regional economies. In the graphic is the same. Today, there is only one event in world-wide (Drupa, held every four years in Düsseldorf, Germany). The other fairs serve major regional markets, with the Print (North America), and Igas (Asia), Ipex (Europe) and ExpoPrint Latin America (Latin America).
Rather ExpoPrint success can be explained by the words of its director, Karl Klökler. “The AFEIGRAF, when it was created in 2004, was born with the proposal to hold two major events in the graphics industry. One of a technical nature, is the Trends of Print Conference, held in 2008. The other is ExpoPrint Latin America, which has the objective to offer something totally different from what was known in terms of graphics fairs in Brazil and Latin America”, he said.
In this case, the references were more successful events from the outside. “We have great fairs held around the world and excel in the visitor’s comfort and technology, such as Drupa and Print. We wanted to bring this concept to ExpoPrint. Also, think of an event that was not local, but rather attending to the reality of Latin America. And as a result, we reap good fruits in the very first edition in 2006”, said Karl.
The fact that the show happens every four years (always between Drupa’s) and careful choice of location of exposure (second time happens at the Transamerica Expo Center, occupying the pavillions A, B, C, D and E, a total of 30.000 m2) are among the initiatives AFEIGRAF and AP&S Exhibits – the latter, organizer and promoter of ExpoPrint, to innovate the concept of fair graphics in the region.
It is expected that more than 40.000 visitors during the seven days of its completion.
“We want visitors from Brazil and abroad here are the same comfort to visit what is known in major international events”, said Ismael Guarnelli, director of AP&S. “For 2010, we expect further visits from professionals from Latin America. In 2006, we had great presence of Argentines, Paraguayans, Peruvians, Colombians, Chileans and Venezuelans in ExpoPrint and in 2010, we also equal receptivity of the Caribbean and Mexico.”
Therefore, ExpoPrint has been released (through its own stand) in several international events, such as at Drupa 2008, Print’09 and Graphics of the Americas 2009.
