Canon Business Solutions Reaches Milestone with the Installation of Its 500th imagePRESS Color Digital Press

Thursday 17. September 2009 - Andrew Associates of Enfield, Connecticut Adds Second imagePRESS C7000VP Color Digital Press to Meet the Growing Demand for Short Run Digital Printing

Canon Business Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of Canon U.S.A. Inc. and a leading provider of digital document imaging and office solutions today announced it has reached a milestone with the 500th installation of a Canon imagePRESS digital press. The highly regarded and successful line of color digital presses has been widely accepted by the Commercial Print industry as a viable alternative to offset printing for short-run production.

Andrew Associates, a marketing services company providing creative design, digital printing, mailing services, and fulfillment, was the customer who purchased the 500th unit. It is their second purchase of a Canon imagePRESS C7000VP color digital press from Canon Business Solutions.

“When Canon first released the imagePRESS line, we were hopeful that it might finally be an answer for a short-run digital press approaching offset quality,” said Ginny Knapp, president, Andrew Associates. “We were pleased to find the quality and productivity of the unit did indeed fill that need.

“The support from Canon Business Solutions to ensure we capitalize on our investment has been tremendous. They have helped us to take full advantage of the imagePRESS’ ability to work well with variable data. Now that we have two devices we should be able to keep up with the increasing demand,” added Knapp.

The Canon imagePRESS line represents the largest single-engine R&D investment in Canon’s history. Capable of printing images up to 1200 x 1200 dots-per-inch (dpi) resolution with an exceptional level of quality, the imagePRESS C7000VP prints at 70 letter-sized pages per minute (ppm), including media up to 110lb cover stock. The imagePRESS C7000VP reflects Canon’s commitment to enabling businesses of all sizes to capitalize on years of intensive R&D in digital color imaging and reproduction.

“We’re very proud of the success the imagePRESS line is achieving,” said Denis Griff, senior director, Production Print, Canon Business Solutions, Inc. “Five hundred units is no small task in the short time we’ve offered the product, but as we continue to work with our clients we are not surprised by its acceptance. Solutions such as Canon’s imagePRESS series, coupled with the many software and workflow enablers available today are helping to redefine the digital color market.”
