New, economical punching and Wire-O binding machine ProBind W from Kugler-Womako

Saturday 12. September 2009 - Following the presentation of the new ProBind concept, a binding machine concept that places a special focus on economy, at drupa 2008, Kugler-Womako has now produced the first ProBind W machine, which has already been sold.

The new machine concept developed by Kugler-Womako, a company belonging to the Körber PaperLink Group, is an economical alternative to small, manual double-wire binding machines as well as to more expensive, fully automatic machines for mass production.

The ProBind W is an automatic in-line punching and Wire-O binding solution equipped with the following production stages: manual-feed for pre-cut books, layer splitting, punching, binding and delivery of the finished product. The system can be optionally expanded by adding automatic product feeders, Lumbeck cutters and book-cover feeder systems; book corners can also be rounded. The ProBind W can be combined with the Kugler-Womako HK 571 double wire-forming machine.

“With a maximum of 35 binding cycles and 105 punching cycles, the new ProBind W is able to boast sensational production performance and delivers outstanding product quality,” said Stephan Bühler, Product Manager at Kugler-Womako. “For bookbinders and stationery manufacturers in particular, this is an ideal starter machine to automate production or the perfect addition to an existing production line to increase production capacity,” he added.

The ProBind W is able to process books up to 23 mm thick.

Due to the high interest in the ProBind series of machines, the different models (spiral, plastic wire and Wire-O) are set up for demonstration purposes on a regular basis at Kugler-Womako’s main offices in Nürtingen, Germany.
