Goss International puts productivity in the spotlight at IFRA 09

Friday 21. August 2009 - Goss International's focus for IFRA 2009 (Vienna, October 12 - 15) is on helping customers to stay progressive and competitive through challenging times. Centered on ‘New Ways for Print' through optimizing and maximizing production, the company is emphasizing opportunities with rapid ROI.

A recently restructured Goss Lifetime Support team leads the way with enabling aftermarket technologies for every aspect of print production, to provide quantifiable benefits in efficiency, productivity and versatility.

“In the highly competitive world of newspaper printing, Return on Investment is maximized through reducing waste, shortening turnaround times, minimizing labor costs, and lowering run-length thresholds while expanding equipment utilization,” comments Eric Bell, Goss International marketing manager. “For this reason, many Goss aftersales product developments are directed at objectives that increase both equipment automation and the versatility to produce an extended gamut of products.”

According to Bell, switching daily between coldset to heatset production, changing web widths automatically and utilizing the latest environmental innovations are just some of the opportunities which Goss enhancements are already delivering in the field, helping customers maintain a competitive edge.

Goss International is also highlighting its Triliner technology at IFRA, an enhancement that converts two-pages-around newspaper presses to print three-pages-around. Publishers can save paper and increase productivity and color capacity whilst maintaining broadsheet sectioning and the ability to incorporate standard-size advertising inserts. The enhancement entails modification of the plate cylinders to accommodate a single plate containing three shorter newspaper pages imaged around the circumference, presenting an alternative to an investment in new equipment.

“With the most diverse web offset press range in the industry, Goss International is best positioned for working closely with customers to configure exactly the right system for their requirements,” Bell comments. “IFRA Expo 2009 provides a great opportunity for us to engage with printers and publishers and advise on the right approach for maximizing productivity, efficiency and quality, whether that be through investment in a new press or enhancement of existing equipment.”

Representatives from Goss International are available on the Goss stand, B510, Hall B, throughout IFRA 2009 to discuss opportunities for success through current and future installed press and postpress equipment.
