Objet offers high-speed experience at Donington

Objet's Connex350™ will make its UK debut at the ‘Slipstream’ event at Donington Park on Tuesday, 22nd September.

Friday 14. August 2009 - Donington Park, the new home of the British Formula One Grand Prix, will also soon play host to a UK first in rapid prototyping. Objet Geometries has chosen the venue for its ‘Slipstream' event on Tuesday, 22nd September, when the company will debut its newest product, the Connex350TM.

The Connex350TM is an entry-level solution that maintains the Connex family’s unique ability to produce 3D models by simultaneously printing multiple materials with different mechanical and physical properties. Widely established through the Connex500TM, the PolyJet MatrixTM Technology enables two polymers to be mixed during printing, simulating overmoulding or providing different material characteristics such as variable shore hardness. The Connex350TM offers these capabilities at a lower investment through its build volume of 350 x 350 x 200 mm, while delivering the same performance as its larger counterpart.

The Objet ‘Slipstream’ event at Donington will introduce features and benefits of the Connex350TM through product demonstrations, technical explanations and case studies from customers on their experience of the base technology. In addition, there will be the opportunity to discuss prototyping challenges with the Objet technical team and engineers and explore other products from the Objet range, including the AlarisTM30 desktop 3D printer. The high-quality and fine detail printing of the compact office-friendly system will also be demonstrated at the ‘Slipstream’ event.

To balance any intellectual strain from the technical discussions, the event will also allow attendees to sample the full appeal of Donington. As well as a tour of the world-renowned Donington Park F1 collection, there will be an opportunity for guests to assess their own aptitude for speed with F1, rally and superbike simulators and to test their reactions against the fastest drivers on the world racing circuit.

“This venue is synonymous with advanced technology, providing the perfect backdrop for the introduction of this exciting product, which itself incorporates leading and unique technology,” comments Chris Baker, Objet Geometries UK Regional Manager. “It promises to be a really enjoyable as well as informative day for all those attending and I have no doubt that everyone will get a thrill from the high-performance experiences on offer.”
