Dow Coating Materials Introduces Stain-Repellent Rhoplex EZ Clean 200 Acrylic Binder

Dow Coating Materials, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE:DOW) dedicated to innovation in the paint and coatings industry, has introduced Rhoplex EZ Clean 200, a 100 percent acrylic binder designed for premium interior flat and satin broad wall paints requiring high resistance to household stains.

“Paint formulators have identified a strong market for interior coatings that resist splashes and spills from liquids such as juice, tea, coffee and wine,” said Rusty Johnson, marketing manager for Architectural Coatings with Dow Coating Materials. “Rhoplex EZ Clean 200 emulsion enables the formulation of new products that meet current industry standards for stain resistance in these applications.”

Ideal for playrooms, kitchens, dining rooms and other parts of the home subjected to occasional splashes and spills, paints based on Rhoplex EZ Clean 200 exhibit excellent hydrophilic stain repellency combined with good hydrophobic stain removal. Additionally, Rhoplex EZ Clean 200 requires no coalescent and therefore can be formulated into very low VOC coatings with good film formation. Rhoplex EZ Clean 200 also contains no APEO (alkyl phenol ethoxylate), allowing it to be formulated into paints that meet environmental and regulatory compliance.
