Ownership Transfer at Buhrs

Tuesday 04. August 2009 - On 2 June 2009 Joost van der Klooster acquired Buhrs Mailing Solutions B.V. from Buhrs Holding BV. Buhrs has manufacturing companies in The Netherlands and Germany. In addition, Buhrs has sales & service companies in Europe, the United States, Japan and China and employs over 268 employees worldwide. Joost van der Klooster started his career with Buhrs in 1996, which was acquired in 1993 by his father Adrian van der Klooster, who expanded the company in the development of the international Buhrs Group.

Joost van der Klooster: “Since that time a lot has happened and Buhrs has become a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of mailing and fulfilment solutions. We have our product portfolio, consisting of poly and paper wrapping, envelope inserting, addressing and fulfilment systems, strongly augmented resulting in a global interesting market share. After years of growth it was necessary to restructure Buhrs in order to address the current economic climate and be prepared for the future adequately. The supporting management team, which also has a minority interest in the company, is fully confident in the organisation and believes in a sound future for Buhrs and its employees. This step is a long term commitment to our customers, procures transparency to the market and is a good extension to the centennial that Buhrs celebrated in 2008.”
