Thursday 30. July 2009 - Collins Ink Corporation announces that it has acquired the UV Curable Inkjet and Optical disc coating business of Hexion Specialty Chemicals, Inc.

Hexion’s UV curables group produces UV inkjet and optical disc coatings targeted at the graphic arts and industrial market. The acquisition includes intellectual property, laboratory and manufacturing assets as well as key personnel associated with Hexion’s UV curables inkjet business.

“The platform UV technologies developed by Hexion are an excellent fit to our present business,” stated Mike Barrett, Vice President Sales & Marketing of Collins Inks. “Collins plans to become the leader in UV inkjet technology and will improve, expand and aggressively promote the platforms in the graphic arts and industrial market.”

Collins Ink is in its 19th year of formulating, manufacturing and selling inkjet inks. Collins operates out of an 83,000 square foot, state-of-the-art, technical development and manufacturing site in Cincinnati, Ohio. Collins Ink is a provider of inkjet ink fluids for thermal, continuous, and DOD inkjet printers. Most of Collins’ success has come from supplying inks for Kodak© and HP© printer technologies, where it has supply agreements in place with both.
